The Wand Aneasthesia

When you receive an injection, the needle is not what causes the most pain. It is actually the pressure from fluid being forced into the tissues that causes discomfort. When using “the wand “ computerised system, the fluid is delivered at a pressure and volume that is below the threshold of pain, therefore making it more comfortable to be numbed up.

The wand also looks much less “threatening” than the old injection needle. In addition, because it allows  more accurate and local anaesthesia, it is often possible to use less anaesthetic fluid and avoid excessive numbness of surrounding tissues, lips etc.
